The gun turrets are made of 0.4mm birch ply rolled twice around a suitable former, details are 3/16 square tube, basswood and bamboo.Plus a turned aluminium gun ring.

Bofors gun upper carriage and base under construction.

The gun itself,100% scratchbuilt.
The quadmount comes from trumpeter's 1/16th M16MGMC kit, which requires a lot of detail work.
I also choose to substitute the .50 guns with Tamiya items, better detailed in my opinion.
Side frame rebuilt with u channel, weld seams added with epoxy putty.

Classical before-after shot.

Quadmount frame well underway.

Side plate temporarly fitted

Tamiya M2BMG, choking handle moved to  left side,Aber brass barrel fitted. The original barrel is slightly short, incidentally the Aber barrel also needs lenghtening by 1.2mm

Charthouse made of 0.6mm birch ply, bamboo post and longerons, basswood corner pieces

Reference comes from the elco blueprint  collection and  Jeff Davidson's website primarly.
The frames were hand drawn using hull height and width tables from the elco blueprints.
Frames 1-9 note deck hatch frame and deadlight frame, interior detail roughly sketched.

Hi everyone, this blog is about building a 1/16th static model  of PT195, in late 1944 configuration.
The model is entirely scratchbuilt-except part of the armament- in classic plank on frame method.
Galley under construction
The hull has been split longitudinally to mantain everything lined up during construction using the keel plan as reference plan.Keel and frames are 2mm birch plywood, planking is basswood over a layer of bamboo strips for the bow and 1mm birch ply for sides and rear.
